Fragile Water

Water reflecting the sky amongst the trees

Sometimes it takes seeing something through the lens of a camera to realise just how beautiful and fragile it is.  This was shot on Moel Famau – a hill (almost a mountain) in North Wales just 20 minutes from home.  It’s one of my favourite places and I often go there to spend some quality time with my camera.  As I captured this image I couldn’t shake the thought of how precious our environment is – and how delicate.  This area of outstanding natural beauty (officially!) should be treated with respect and care, but so often I see rubbish left and tree branches snapped.

Water always conveys a sense of fragility – just as glass can shatter in a moment, it takes so little for us to destroy and pollute the waterways, rivers, streams and marshes – like the images it reflects with just one touch they can disappear forever.
